First Fundraising Event & More

Hello and welcome to our newsletter…an area where you can find out about upcoming events, news, and helpful information provided by Dr. Coffey and Dr. Navarro.

It has been a fast-paced few months getting our nonprofit status, building our policies, bylaws and board, as well as letting the community know we are here. We have hosted 2 FREE hearing screening events thus far and attendance grew significantly between the two dates. With the success of the screenings, the board is currently working on finding other dates throughout the year to help the community monitor their hearing health. Stay tuned for updates!

We are so excited to announce we are hosting our FIRST fundraising event at Winchester’s Bar & Grill in Ventura on Tuesday, August 8th 2023. Our upcoming fundraiser is a “Restaurant Night Out” fundraiser, meaning they donate a portion of the proceeds from their in-house food sales (unfortunately, bar sales do not count toward our fundraiser) to our cause. The more attendees = more funds for our Hearing Aid Fund!

This is going to make a big difference in our funding. We have already funded our FIRST set of hearing aids and are well on our way to our second set. Our first funded set were a cost of $3600 and the patient has cleaning and technical assistance for the life of the hearing aids included. We are 50% funded for our second set and have a third applicant that is in the approval process. We are looking at the possibility of funding THREE sets of hearing aids in our first 9 months as a nonprofit!
